My desk anatomy

As someone who works from home, my desk is where I spend most of my time. I have invested time and money into creating a space that I WANT to spend hours at. Is it perfect? No way. Does it make me happy? Yup! Let me give you a tour.

I’ve had this desk since college and while I get frustrated with how small it is, I also love displaying my books and little knick knacks in the hutch part.

The artwork is from Etsy (specifically Prudka illustrations), the pink hydrangeas is a fun way to add some greenery to my desk. Then we have some random objects, a Juicy Couture perfume container (first edition because that era was ELITE), my Agatha Christie mug, a pretty glass and a tiara that was part of my halloween costume a couple years back.

Okay, now we have my Agatha collection. Most are the William Morrow editions that I have collected over the years, there are a couple And Then There Were None special editions, and a book of Miss Marple quotes.

a shot of several Agatha Christie books and a few And Then There Were None special editions on the top shelf. The second shelf holds some design and philosophy books then Harry Potter special editions, the first illustrated Harry Potter book then a golden snitch and a HP Funko doll

On the second level, we have my Harry Potter books (someone borrowed my hardback of the 7th book and never returned it…) my color changing mischief managed mug with the Marauder’s Map and Lupin’s wand. Then we have a bunch of design, marketing, photography and philosophy books, and finally my second Harry Potter section with the illustrated first book, the stenciled edge paperbacks, a few snitch figurines, my HP Funko doll and Hermione’s wand.

The top shelf has some artwork of a girl holding a lot of books then a small pot of pink hydrangeas. Next to it is a Juicy Couture perfume bottle, a mug, a white candle and a tiara. The second level has the hardbacks of the Harry Potter series, a color changing mug, a wand and the Marauder's map

Now, the desk area:

I just got this lamp and it has 5 lighting modes, each of which can be paired with one of 5 brightness levels. The ease of just tapping the switches to turn the light off or adjust the brightness is just *chefs kiss*.

This Belkin 2 in 1 charger was on my nightstand, but while I loved it, I never used it with my phone. I moved it to my desk and the nightstand mode is now my favorite! Tip: changing up the color of the time has made me love it even more.

Curved monitor- working on actual desktop instead of a laptop screen is just so much easier on the eyes for me. Mine is the 27″ curved Samsung display, it came with the HDMI cable that has been attached to my laptop almost permanently. The refresh rate is pretty fast and the image colors is good.

Vertical laptop stand– another new addition! While my old laptop riser was great, it took up a lot of desk space. This new vertical stand opens up my desk space. Thankfully, I found out about clamshell mode (why isn’t this talked about more?) so the monitor is the only screen I need.

YONISKIN desktop tripod with magsafe– I also have this Mofft dupe. It’s a magnetic tripod for your phone. It’s great for close up shots, it can be used as a 180° selfie stick, or a tabletop tripod.

Multiple USB ports for charging- I’ve had this little guy for what feels like yeeeears now. It’s probably Murphy’s Law that everything needs to be charged at the same time hence this hub. I also have some USB-c converters that I keep plugged in if the cord isn’t USB compatible.

My Beats headphones and stand- nothing super special, but I just love this setup.

Fall decor and my favorite scent- a friend gave me this adorable pumpkin (that she made!) and my favorite scent is sandalwood so when I found this large candle for 8 bucks I just had to have it.
– Also, my USB lighter is a lifesaver! I hate matches and this USB lighter only needs to be charged every other month (or sometimes even every 3 months…)

Okay, my desk only has one small drawer and one cabinet that I thought would be ample because most to all my files are digital, but over time all these random papers, knick knacks and more piled up. BUT it does have cord organization!

This footstool has is so comfy AND has storage! This is also relatively new for my desk setup and I really regret not getting it sooner.

This wireless keyboard and mouse has neutral and pink toned key caps is just so me. It adds the perfect pop of color. The keys are also typewriter inspired and makes just the right amount of noise.

The cloud wrist rest is a game changer. I’ve had it for about a month now and it’s one of those things that seem idiotic, but then you try it and wonder how you survived without it for so long. The mouse wrist rest is comfy also, but when I do some editing in Canva I move the mouse all over and the rest gets in the way. Yes, #firstworldproblems.

That’s it for now! Have questions? Feel free to comment/DM me!
