My 10 favorite phone apps

I’m all about that digital life and like a typical millennial my phone is my life. So it should not be a surprise that I’m going to post a list of my favorite apps.

Instagram
Now, when I say Instagram I should say Bookstagram because I NEVER get on my personal profile… Bookstagram is my bread and butter, I am always on it and yes, it’s part of my personality.

Libro.FM
Have I raved about this app/site before? For every audiobook you get, a portion of the profits go to a local bookstore of your choice! The app has a narration speed adjuster that goes by intervals of 1s so you can settle on just the right narration speed you want. As an avid audio book worm, I cannot emphasize how much this matters. Libro.FM’s app also features a sleep timer, AirPlay feature, the option to bookmark sections and much, much more! Libro also gifts you one credit/month and if you use it on your phone, you can download your audiobook directly- no need to get on the computer.

Kindle app
Are you surprised? Well I kind of am. I LOVE my separate Kindle and only use the kindle app in emergencies- like when I forget my Kindle at home and NEED to finish the chapter I was reading.

Google Play
Okay, Google Play would rank higher on this list if it adjusted the time to read an audiobook based on the narration speed. That’s it. I know, a total #FirstWorldProblem. Do the kids still say that?

Everand
Everand (formally Scribd) is basically a digital library. It has audiobooks, ebooks, podcasts and articles. It’s subscription based and the titles don’t stay forever so I recommend listening/reading to whatever you saved right away. But they do have some good ones!

CapCut
Again, I adore CapCut and it would have ranked higher if it didn’t suck up my phone storage like some kind of addicting video making sponge. I initially deleted it off my phone and just had the desktop app, but I re-downloaded it and have a note with my favorite filters/font names so I can just use them and not download all the other ones they have (and they have A LOT).

Jigsaw Puzzles
When I’m listening to an audiobook, I like to keep busy with other activities, the more calming the better. Physical jigsaw’s used to be my go to, but I ran out of space to complete them and if I complete them on the floor Ramen thinks I’m playing with him and decides to chew and/or eat the pieces.

Canva
Am I the only one who hates designing on the app? I seriously only use this to make small edits and to download the images to my phone.

Pinterest
I make digital review pages that include a section that is just 6-10 pictures that describe the book. I use Pinterest to find those photos. I usually search _______ + aesthetic and Pinterest pulls up an abundance of those photos.

Spotify
I am always listening to Spotify and can’t believe that I used to spend ¢99 per song to add to my iTunes. Then again I have Spotify Premium… Also they have audiobooks now. I haven’t explored that feature yet, but it’s exciting!
